Recently, at THE RANCH in Anaheim, my friend Jason LaPorte introduced me to yet another new line dance of his. This is his latest of now 10 dances! See all on Copperknob here: JASON LAPORTE on COPPERKNOB.
His dance, Takin’ The Slow Ride is to Lanie Gardner’s new song by the same name. The dance very much flows and really embodies and accentuates the theme and feeling of Lanie Gardner’s song: just taking your time and going on a slow ride. I think dancing this line dance to the song actually makes you feel more relaxed and at peace! Nice job, Jason! Keep the great dances coming, you are on a roll!

New website for BOOT SHOPPING! Check out this fun product search tool for looking up boots on Amazon! It’s all styles of boots, but for shopping for your Cowboy & Cowgirl Boots for dancing, just set the style filter on COWBOY / WESTERN! Also, narrow down to your favorite brand, like Corral, Ariat, or Dan Post, etc. Set your price range and check out what is available at a glance!
But here’s my PRO TIP! When shopping for boots on Amazon, look at what the outsole material is made of! Some great, cute boots are very affordable ($50.00), but look out, the soles are typically rubber or made out of a synthetic material. You’ll most likely need to pay a little more for some good, comfortable, and leather-soled Cowboy or Cowgirl Boots!

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA – THE RANCH
There’s a new annual event at THE RANCH in Anaheim-their Classic Country Week! This is a new thing each summer, and it’s happening this weekend! It kicked off last night with Linedance Thursday and continues tonight! The DJs are tasked with coming up with some fun & creative song swaps to ensure the pop & hip-hop songs we line dance to take a back seat for the night.
Come out at 6:30 for the free dance lessons from Dev Edwards. First, it will be the El Paso Cha Cha, and then at 7:15, the Line Dance Linda Lu!
The line band tonight will be Brad Johnson & The Killin’ Time Band and will come on at 8 pm

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO – Hennessey’s Tavern
Marie Kelly, AKA the Champaign Cowgirl, seems to be all over! Well, here’s yet another one of her spots! She is hosting a line dance night on Mondays now at Hennessey’s Tavern in San Juan Capistrano!

The newly imagined Sea Salt venue at Bolsa Chica Beach, will continue gathering good crowds today for their live music from Redneck Rodeo and line dancing at the World’s First Honky Tonk on the Beach!
Cindi Massengale will be teaching from 12-2 pm and will also take requests for dances you want to learn. Come early to grab a table and enjoy the great food (BBQ by Heritage Barbecue) and drinks with friends on a beautiful day at the beach!

ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA – THE RANCH Saloon
Recently, after a long hiatus, THE RANCH Saloon brought back their Family Night Sunday! Now happening every month, June’s Family Night Sunday is TONIGHT!
Doors open earlier than normal at 3:00 pm. Throughout the evening, there will be a beginner and intermediate line dance lesson, as well as a partner dance lesson.
Children ages 10 and up must be accompanied by a parent or guardian into The Saloon. There is a $15 cover charge for all guests attending Family Night on Sunday.
Note: There will not be a Family Night Sunday scheduled in July. The next Family Night Sunday will be held in August–date has yet to be announced.
