SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO – The Swallows Inn
Swallows Inn, a storied little dive bar, is beloved and packed out every weekend. I was there yesterday, and even on a Sunday afternoon, there’s a fantastic crowd dancing happily to live music! (see image at top left or below). It always amazes me how the dancers can even dance in that tiny space, but they love it. There’s a great community of dancers, always there.
I had fun dancing, but made it my goal to move safely around the tiny, crowded floor with minimal bumping. And tonight the fun keeps going!

For Father’s Day, I don’t have any events posted here. In SoCal, there will be a great time at Sea Salt’s Honky Tonk on the Beach and Swallows Inndown in San Juan Capistrano. Hopefully, wherever you are, you are celebrating the dads in your life, and if you are a dad, you get a cold beer and take in some good times with family and friends!
For today, I just wanted to post a fairly recent new line dance from Maddison Glover. Everything she does is gold, and this one is not an exception. But what I also love about it is the great song from Chris Janson, “Hawaii on Me.” I think the sentiment expressed is great for today. As a dad, when I leave this life, I hope this is my attitude: to be grateful for all the life I got to live! Check out the step sheet here and her demo & the song below.

Join them TONIGHT at the American Legion in Dover, DE, from 7-11 pm for a night full of fun, friends, and footwork!
Open dancing & lessons, and requests will be taken all night long
HACKETTSTOWN, NEW JERSEY – Donaldson Farms
Contrary to earlier reports, this is still happening! It will take place in the open-air event tent rather than on the lawn area.
Tickets are available at the door. $10 pp, ages 10 and under are free. Exact cash and credit cards are accepted. Arrive early for check-in and shopping. Our farm market and Czig Meister Brewing Company’s Can Shack close at 6:00 pm.

DUBLIN, OHIO – Emerald City Ballroom
Tonight is Dublin City Limits, a Country Line & Partner Dance Party!
Line dances will include instruction early in the party. The playlist will include line dances, Two Step, Waltz, West Coast Swing, Polka, Triple Two, Nightclub club and more! They will also take requests. The Emerald City Ballroom dance floor is huge at 60’ x 35′. The evening will be led by Mary Beth Hurst from columbusdancesocial.com
Today’s event is from 7-10 pm, with a cost of $20.

I love this one since there are horses involved. Having a country dance event at the Mitchel Farm makes sense! Their Country Line Dance Party is today at 3 pm, and if you don’t know how to line dance? NO PROBLEM! Aric will walk you through it! And for those who don’t want to dance? Again, NO PROBLEM! Bring your picnic and lawn chair and enjoy the afternoon surrounded by peaceful grazing horses, and take part in the other activities.
$25 at the gate. Farm tours, silent auction, games, meet & greet our horses and donkeys. B.Y.O.B. and a picnic if you like. And, there will be a prize for the best picnic – $100 G.C. to Flanders Fish House in E. Lyme, CT.
Don’t forget your lawn chair! Pop-up tents allowed. Please, no dogs.
