Recently, I saw that the Mucara Walk was trending up on Copperknob. In May, it rose as high as #2 in the top 10! The Walk, or Mucara Walk, was choreographed by John Steel back in 2007, and is his only dance found on Copperknob. But wait, is this really John Steel’s dance? It is, but recently it was revealed that that was a pseudonym! His actual name is Steve Healy.
But the big question is, why was it trending? Well, sadly, Steve passed away last month, and there has been some dancing it in tribute to him. It was the day of his memorial (May 29, 2025) that it got up to #2. Today it is still as high as #4! I hope the love keeps going for a while. One thing that I forgot about was that his step sheet included a Partner variation!
